In times of economic uncertainty, we need certainty in our economic policies, firm resolve from our leaders and faith in each other to overcome these challenges. The State Government has unveiled the 2009 Budget that is pro-growth, pro-jobs and pro-poor.

As part of our pro-jobs effort, the government is offering job retraining, job placement and any alternative opportunities available for those who may be retrenched. An initial sum of RM10 million has been allocated by the state government with additional sums promised by the Federal Government.

Rest assured that during these difficult times, you will not be overlooked much less forgotten. As a people-centric government, securing jobs will be our top priority. We need to trust in each other’s energy, expertise and entrepreneurship that is the bedrock of Penang’s success!
